The Ridgefield School of Dance will celebrate its 25th anniversary in Ridgefield with its spring performance June 10 & 11th at The Clune Center in Wilton, CT. The performance includes 3 short pieces; a classic, a comedic and a children’s ballet, along with the jazz department’s spring offering. This is a performance that every family member will enjoy.
The curtain will rise Saturday evening at 6:30 and feature Act II of the classic Swan Lake, Carnival of the Animals and Up in the Clouds a presentation by the Jazz Department. The 1:00 Sunday matinée performance will also include A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
Act II of the timeless Swan Lake features The Ridgefield School of Dance Ballet Company including RHS seniors Sophia Dotterer and Alice Lombardo, plus the upper level students. Carnival of the Animals is a delightful ballet with animals having a human counterpart (think donkey roustabouts, swan ballerinas, chicken clowns). Along with Company members A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra our joyful ensemble of enthusiastic youngest dancers present to the audience the human equivalent of woodwinds, string, brass and percussion instruments.
